Rose McQueen was born on February 27, 1956 in Liberty, Texas to Curly James McQueen and Clara Mae Roberts. She went home to be with the on May 21, 2019 with family at her side.
Rose attended Dayton Independent High School; growing and following her passion to teach, Rose went on to become a substitute teacher for the public school system in Jonesboro, Louisiana.
Rose’s talents were endless: artist, cook, crocheting, gardening, sewing, singing…the lists goes on. But the best accomplishment of them all, Rose was a dedicated mother of six, plus one son, deceased Bruce Hollingsworth. She was their teacher, cheerleader, confidant and friend. She was a ray of sunshine to whomever she encountered. She was kind, caring, energetic, and charismatic. Rose trusted in God. She was always willing to give words of encouragement, “You Are Beautiful” or just befriending you, if you needed someone. She gave to everyone, no matter the situation and she helped guide people in their recovery while she worked as a secretariat CCAC, always going above and beyond the call of duty. Rose was truly a blessing that God allowed this humble soul to be a part of all of us.
